This makes it very difficult to find the second player lightgun. I'm surprised newer Guitar Hero/Rock Band controllers don't take a similar approach (USB w/ adapters for each console, identical guitar with appropriate adapter bundled with the game)! Of course, the game's popularity wasn't nearly enough to sell/make many of these, especially seeing as how it can still be found sealed and new by the pallet-load. It was done this way so that two versions would not have to be made for store shelves. It attaches to either the Genesis or SNES light gun using an RJ11 connector on the bottom to add a second player. The problem is getting your hands on the second player's orange "Justifier" lightgun. Heck, until I gave them all away last year, I had several sealed SegaCD versions with the light gun that I found at a dollar store (ironically, for TWO dollars each).
